The Bite

“They said to each other, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:32‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Two men traveling after the resurrection were discussing and arguing about all that had taken place. Jesus comes near and starts to walk with them. They are prevented from recognizing him. Jesus inquires about their conversation. They ask Jesus if he did not know what had just happened three days prior. They described to Jesus the crucifixion. They had hoped that the Messiah would be coming because it was the third day, and they hadn't seen him.

Jesus stated that they were foolish and slow to believe. He explained that the crucifixion was necessary.

They invited Jesus to stay with them. When Jesus became their host, and broke the bread. It was then they recognized Him. But Jesus was gone.

Their hearts were burning within them while He was talking and explaining the Scriptures to them.

On this walk, Jesus

Allowed them to question the resurrection

He let them chatter about the events.

He checked them on the belief. V26

He explained the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures

He was invited but became the host

The breaking of bread was the eye opener

By the time they recognized Him. He was gone

They realized the road was different when walking with Jesus.

Digest

Walk and talk with Jesus. You will feel the burn when you understand the Scriptures. God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us understand the Word.

Don't wait until it's too late to recognize Jesus. He will come and disappear with those that are His.

Are you walking the road of life with Jesus?

Are you still “waiting on the messiah” of material things” ?

When you read the Word, do you get a fresh “burn” ? conviction, praise, excitement …

Can Jesus become the host in your house? (your temple)
