Topic Tuesday: Doubt
Thomas wasn’t present when the other saw Jesus.
He was getting the report.
Thomas needed a visual.
For many of us, like Thomas we only believe what we see. Seeing is believing right?
Nope Jesus says Blessed are those who believe without SEEING.
Sis, were are you needing a visual for belief?
Thomas made the conditions.
He didn’t fake it or sugar coat how he felt.
He spoke his truth!
Are you speaking your truth to Jesus?
Jesus is listening and repeats back to Thomas all his requests.
Jesus commands the unbelief and doubt to stop 🛑 and tells Thomas to believe
Thomas moves from unbelief to belief!
Where do you need to make a transition in your belief?
We have the assurance we need by looking at the wounds, the sacrifice and the resurrection.
Where will look today for assurance? Seen or unseen?
The Chew: Stop doubting and Have Faith
Many of us have home alarm systems 🚨 listen to today’s podcast for the analogy of the home alarm to the arming power of Jesus.
.
.
Jesus disarmed the power for the enemy to have a residence in our life.
.
.
He can’t live there anymore. .
.
Jesus has nailed our transgressions on the cross.
We don't have to wallow in sins committed towards Him rather it was today, 10 days or 10 years ago.
We don’t have to fear the security of our salvation. .
.
The enemy tries to destroy our security when we leave the door open/cracked or put in the wrong thought code.
But Jesus closed that door completely, Satan has no access. Only what we have allowed to creep in that door. We have to remember the code. The code is JESUS.
.
Once we enter the powerful password.
We are Armed by that power of the Savior. We are protected from the enemy. .
.
.
Satan you can exit now!

His place was private
He wept
Sis, do you have a place to weep and give your cry to Jesus?
When was the last time you had a good gut wretching cry?
We can give it to Jesus and wait for Him to respond
Weeping is only for a moment. Joy is on the way.
In order to pour, the seal must be broken.
The women with the alabaster jar had to break the jar to pour the oil onto Jesus to prepare Him for burial.
They thought that she been wasteful.
She was WORSHIPPING!
They wanted to GAIN
She wanted to GIVE!
No one saw her like Jesus! He stood up for her. He honored her as noble!
She gave what she could!
Sis, Give Him what you can.
What is covering or closing your worship?
In order to pour Sis, You have to be broken and filled with the sweet aroma of Jesus. The finest perfume ever! So that you can pour and anoint others!

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
A couple of the other translations mentioned:
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (NLT)
Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play a major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. (Message Translation)
God saved YOU when you believed. It is only by his grace that we even have the option to have eternal life. We didn’t do anything or take any part in this decision. He chooses to give us a gift.
Salvation is not a reward for any of the good you have done or think you have done.
What is grace? Grace is defined as merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens and increases them in Christian faith.
Through His merciful kindness towards us, we have the gift of Salvation. If someone brought you a gift, would you stand there and say no?
Sister, Why then would you reject our Loving Father standing in front of you with the only gift in life that has worth?
This lifetime gift comes with a warranty. That warranty is eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. There is no other way to get this gift. It can not be bought with a price. It's free. You actually get a receipt that you get to keep with you at all times, the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 1:22 He put his seal on us and gives us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee.
If you have ever been to Costco/Sams, on the way out, they check your receipt and proceed to put a check paid mark on it.
When you choose to accept this gift, that he has graciously provided. You have your receipt showing you have been paid for by our Risen Savior.
Have you accepted this free gift from a Gracious God? He loves you and He is standing, waiting with the best gift you can ever receive? Will you tell him: No, thank you, how nice of you? Or will you accept the gift with arms wide open and with excitement as you say: Thank you for saving me! I accept the beautiful gracious gift of life!
If you have not made the decision to accept this gift. I encourage you to accept the best thing in the world and have a forever changed life.
John 4:10 If only you knew the gift God has for you and you would ask. I would give.
Ask Him in your life today to receive what only He has to give.
Accept the Gracious gift. Share the Gracious gift.
2 Timothy 1:5
I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother.
In this bite, Paul is speaking to Timothy. He states that he remembers Timothy's faith. It was a genuine sincere faith.
When people see you, do they see your faith in Jesus well enough to remember you by your faith?
The Amplified version states: I remember your sincere and unqualified faith [the surrendering of your entire self to God in Christ with confident trust in His power, wisdom and goodness, a faith] which first lived in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am confident that it is in you as well.
The Message Translation states: That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you!
This is generational faith. Just the other day, I witness my daughter speak with the pastor about her upcoming baptism. She answered his questions with such confidence even at just eight years old. I began to cry tears of joy because I could see that generational faith playing out in front of me.
It was because I have seen that faith fill my grandmother Evelyn. I watched her Sunday after Sunday praising the Lord, I witnessed her reading and highlighting in her Bible. I also knelt beside her in prayer.
It was because of this woman displaying her faith, that I become who I am today.
Today I ask this: Are you displaying a faith that can be witnessed and shared by the next generation? A faith like Paul stated that can be handed down?
I don't know about you, but I would love to see people tell my grandchildren about my faith and legacy. I would love one day to her from my four children that because of me, witnessing my faith in Jesus, they remembered and others remembered as well.
The last time, I visited my grandmother this summer. I prayed over her aloud. Even though she can't respond verbally. She looked at me with such a joy I can' forget. I think we both knew. She had left a generational mark on me. I wish she was able to witness my children giving their life to Christ. But I will always make sure they know it was because of her faith, Mommy knows how to share the faith with them and others.
Ladies, will you hand down a sincere faith like Lois and Eunice gave Timothy to your family?
Share your faith with the next generation.
Proverbs 21: 9, 19
V.9 It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.
V.19 It’s better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife.
This verse also mentioned in Proverbs 24:25
So I wonder how many our men feel like all they have left to do is hide (shut down), because of our complaining and argumentative behaviors. Has your man resorted to the quiet desolated place because of your own mouth?
We are either building up our man and our home or tearing it down with our own hands. It is often said, the women set the tone of the home. What tone are you setting in your home?
This verse simply shows us it is better for our man to live open to the elements outside than to dealing with the nagging.
I am still a work in progress. :) but at the beginning of my marriage, I'm sure my husband would have rather went out in the cooling rain, and warmth of sun outside, inside of dealing with storm Alnesha.
So, ladies, Are you a complaining wife? Are you jumping down his throat for any and everything he does or doesn't do?
So challenge for us, this week: Try to not complain. When you get ready to, turn it into thanksgiving instead. For example "I hate it when you leave those wet towels on the floor". Instead "I love how you work so hard for our family, babe".
Proverbs 16:24
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Sweeten up words to your Sweetie
Exodus 16:4
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions.
The Lord was going to provide the complaining Israelites with rain each day. These people were whining and complaining thinking they were going to starve to death. In this verse we see the Lord, providing the food from heaven daily.
He was providing what they need for each day. He tested them to see who would obey his instructions. In some other translations, states willing to live by my instructions.
Sister, what are you complaining or whining about today? Are you trusting the Lord to provide your daily needs? The main digest for today is: Are you passing the Test? Are you willing to the by His instructions?
Deuteronomy 8:2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.
The Lord has led you in your own life journey, just like he led His people through the wilderness for 40 years. Think about your journey and where you are right now. It may not have been 40 years, maybe much more or less. Who is leading you through or has led you through? If you are listening today, it's safe to say, He still is providing your life today.
God tests us to humble us and prove to Him what is really in our heart. Do you have an obedient heart?
Prove your obedient heart
1 Peter 2:24-25
For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Sheep- four legged animal that has tendencies to follow a leader.
Ladies, besides having the four legs and white furry bodies, we are a lot like sheep. But, we have Shepherd and Overseer of our soul who guides up right back on the right path.
In this bite, we are the sheep. We are the ones who fall to the side, wander, roam away from Jesus. We fall in the path of sin.
But, I love the transition, “But God”.
By his grace and mercy, we can return to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.
Return in this verse means to turn to, worship and love and obey the true God.
Shepherd is one who is watching out, preventing attacks on the sheep. Loving and saving the lost sheep.
Overseer is the man in charge of seeing things get done. Jesus is the overseer.
Sister, Have you wandered far from your Shepherd? Have you gotten caught up with the flock of the world? Are you hiding the illness of sin trying to run and flee? Do you realize the stress you causing yourself by being apart from the Overseer? So I ask you are ready to return to the Shepherd?
Luke 15:4
“Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue.
John 10: 3 states He knows His sheep by name. Sister, he knows your name. He is calling you to return to him.
Then, it will be celebration time. Because it has His one back. And when the Good Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of never-ending glory and honor.
Return to the Shepherd
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. NKJV
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. NLT
Your faith is the evidence of your belief in our risen Savior Jesus.
What's your evidence? Who or what are you believing in? Where does your faith coming from?
Are you the same person encouraging others to have faith, but complaining about your circumstances?
Sister, where is your faith when bills need to be paid? Your heart saying "I don't know how ends going to meet". But using the statement “I just have to have faith.”
Saying one thing and believing another, giving lip service faith. Faith on your lips, but not in your heart.
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. The Message
Are you actively trusting and believing in Jesus? What does your obedience look like to Him? Or are you giving lip service faith?
Obedience to Jesus is real Faith
Sister, I love The Message translation. Cheating on God. You can't be flirting with Satan. Allowing him (Satan) to fill your mind with all the so-called beautiful things. He can't provide you anyway. As a result, you end up cheating on your Main Man, number one Lover, Jesus.
Sister, you can't have two men. You will love one and hate the other. Someone is going to get more attention, leaving one to be jealous.
If you cheat too long, you end up with serving divorce paper to the Good Man, Jesus.
Our bite in Romans instructs us to renew the mind. Change the way you think. Focusing on Godly values and attitudes. Transforming comes with spiritual growth. You will be able to know for yourself God’s will is for your life. His will is good, pleasing and perfect.
When you change the way you think that you will be able to discern what God is saying. If you are in the same old pattern, habits, same people, and same thinking don't be mad at God when your circumstances still the same.
He tells us that we have to renew our minds and be transformed.
When we want a to get fit, for a new nice body. We begin to change your eating habits, and maybe even workout. After implementing those changes that you see your body transforming.
The same is true for our spiritual growth. When we want to get close with God, we have to implement some changes but from the inside. Checking your heart, praying, and reading His Word.
Transformation comes with spiritual growth.
Are you still flirting with this messy, painful world? Are you still believing the lies Satan whispering in your ear?
Stop cheating on God today. He is always willing to take you back no matter where you been or what you have done. Transform your mindset to think on His things. You will be prepared to discern His will for you.
Start your transformation
Proverbs 14:1
A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.
Proverbs 2:6-8
All wisdom comes from the Lord, and so do common sense and understanding.
This woman gets everything she needs from the Lord.
Build-simply means to build or rebuild; to put something together; to establish.
Her house refers both to her body(temple) and her household.
Now, we have this foolish woman:
Websters 1828 defines Foolish- void of understanding or sound judgment; unwise, silly and trifling.
Tears down with own hands- destroy
I am in the rebuilding process. I am recovering foolish women finally seeking wisdom from the Lord. Once I realized the need for wisdom, I began to seek it. Sister, he provides wisdom if we ask.
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5
Sister, which woman are you? Are you checking the blueprint to see how to build your household? Are you taking care of your body? Building your temple(spiritually)? Are you allowing the Architect to make the changes he needs to build strong wise woman?
All builders need a blueprint and an architect. Our blueprint is the Bible. His instructions for our life. We have the best Architect available to mankind: JESUS.
John 13:34-35
34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
How You Love Proves to the World You are His!
Jesus commands we love each other.
Love in these two verses:
Remember we will always have an audience. Jesus is sitting in that audience. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere.
Jesus gives us a commandment, which is an order to do something.
We are to love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul. Then love your neighbor as yourself.
Sister, what's your evidence looking like in your life? Can people recognize the love of Jesus in your life? Can Jesus identify you as His disciple by the way you love his people?
For references:
Read 1 John 3:10-23 and 1 John 4: 7-21 for more bites on the way we are to love.
1 John 4:20 states if you say you love God but hate your sister in Christ or your brother in Christ. You are a Liar. How can you love God who is unseen and hate your sister who you can see?
Sister, check your heart today. Love like Jesus.
The opposite of Love is Hate. There is no in between. You are either loving or hating!
Is Hate is polluting your love tank? God can take care of your love tank with His special hate removal treatment. He can make it all clean and make it new again.
Are you willing to let him clean your love tank so that it fills His people and shows others that you are truly his beloved disciple?
Check your love tank
